Collection: Delvin M. Goode
Corona de Tucson, AZ
Delvin M. Goode was raised throughout California, Georgia, Germany, and Florida, as his father was in the United States Air Force. Growing up, his creativity was nurtured by family drawing competitions and art classes. He did not discover pottery until his junior year in college. Pursuing a degree in graphic design, Goode took an elective ceramics class, and was teaching wheel throwing by the end of the semester. Goode joined the United States Army in 2002. He continued practicing graphic design and painting, but notably not ceramics. In 2021 he received his MFA in ceramics from Fort Hays State University (Hays, Kansas). Now, Goode combines his 20 years of mixed media experience with functional pottery to create whimsical, funny, and unique works of art. Goode currently serves in the military while simultaneously expanding his presence in the art world. When one purchases a piece of his art, receiving, unpackaging, and utilizing the piece are all integral aspects of Goode’s artistic puzzles. He hopes his work will make people feel like they’ve won a prize and bring a smile to their face. Goode prefers his work to be used. The stains, scratches, and dents that come from use contribute to the art, and in his mind, is the coolest form of collaboration.
